Colt Challenge Trainer Interest Form

Trainers:
Thank you for your interest in our 8th Annual Colt
Challenge. This year we will be hosting our event on March 9, 10 and 11th. Our event will once again be held at
Michigan State University as part of the Michigan Horse
Council’s International Stallion Exhibition and Trade Show.
The schedule for this year has yet to be determined but
we’re anticipating that you will work colts in front of the
public on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and we will culminate
on Sunday with the colt auction, We will once again be
hosting the 3 year old futurity and are hoping that it will
be either Saturday or Sunday.
We again will guarantee positions for the top four place
finishers from last year. The next six holes will be drawn
from a pool of interested candidates who have their bios and
entry fees returned to us by January 1, 2012. Those trainers
that are not drawn will have their entry fees returned to
them. If you have never participated in our event we ask
that you send us a list of your credentials and short
videotape of you working a colt along with your bio and
entry fee. In addition, we are asking that each trainer be
present in the booth at the trade show for an hour each day.
We will be publishing the times that you will be present in
our catalog so the public will be aware of when you will be
available each day.
If you are interested in participating please fill out the
Bio Sheet (please send us an updated bio), and return it
with a current picture, your entry fee, and the signed
liability waiver. This information will be used for the sale
catalog so that potential clients can contact you. If you
also could include your e-mail address we’ll keep you
updated on how things are shaping up. Thank you very much,
this will be a great help in putting together the catalog
for the seminar and auction. And, hopefully get all of you
some positive exposure.
In addition, we are anticipating that Boulet Boots will
again give a pair of boots to each trainer. Please go to
bouletboots.com and choose a pair that you would like and
return this information to us with the style number and
size. Please make 2 choices and list as first and 2nd….no
exotics!
Your entry fee plus the other nine trainers’ will be
combined with the $1,000 added by Cross Winds Ranch, LLC,
for a total of $2,000 and be paid back to the top 4 highest
scoring trainers on Sunday. Payback will be 40%, 30%, 20%,
10%. PLUS THE TRAINER OF THE TOP SELLING COLT GETS 10% OF
SELLING PRICE (if 2 colts bring the same amount we will pay
the trainer that has the highest cumulative score of the two
or you will have the option to split between the two of
you).
All ten trainers will be judged by a panel of 3 to 5 judges
throughout the course of the weekend, including the preview
on Sunday. Judging will be scored on: SEE ATTACHED.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS TO BE DETERMINED

and stay @ the grounds @ MSU. There are also many hotels in
